What the site is

WorldTimeWise provides free time, time zone, date, calendar, and astronomy reference tools. The tools are offered as-is, for general informational purposes.

Not for critical use

We take accuracy seriously and describe our methods openly (see the methodology page), but no time tool is infallible. Time zone rules change by government decree, browser data can lag behind those changes, and all software has bugs.

Do not rely on this site as your sole source for anything where an error would cause serious harm — including aviation, navigation, medical scheduling, emergency planning, financial transactions, or legal and contractual deadlines. For those, verify against an authoritative source.

No guarantees

We make no warranties, express or implied, about the accuracy, completeness, or availability of the site or its results. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any page or tool at any time without notice.

Acceptable use

You may use the site for personal, educational, and commercial reference. You may not:

• scrape the site aggressively or in a way that degrades it for others;
• present the site's output as your own authoritative certification of a time or date;
• use the site for any unlawful purpose.

Intellectual property

The site's original text, design, code, and graphics belong to the site owner. The underlying time zone data comes from the IANA time zone database, which is in the public domain. Sun and moon calculations use the open-source suncalc library under its BSD licence. You are welcome to link to any page; please use the site's name as the link text rather than a keyword-stuffed description.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the site owner is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site — including losses from acting on an incorrect time or date.
